Drupal is a multi-user system, letting site visitors log in or browse the site without doing so (as anonymous users). Admin can control visitor and member’s access levels, and can also assign “roles” for multiple permission levels.

For Drupal 7, you need the following to get started:
Web Server:Apache or Microsoft IIS
PHP: 5.2 or higher
Database Server: MySQL – 5.0 or higher, PostgreSQL – 8.3 or higher, or SQLite
Drupal is web-based, which means it is compatible with all operating systems.
Drupal is used by some of the biggest sites on the Web, like The Economist,Examiner.com and The White House.
